The importance of the life safety of those who work and visit buildings under our control can not be overestimated and this fact is reinforced by legislation including the Health and Safety at Work At 1974, the Fire Precautions Act 1971 and the Fire Precautions (Workplace) Regulations 1997, there is a need for management to accept and take seriously their responsibilities particularly concerning their wider duty of care, (and that of their employees).
