Technical Security System Design And Auditing
NSG Security Consultants has established an operational
requirement methodology designed to identify specific requirements and not
those perceived by installing companies. We do not advocate technology
just for its own sake, security systems must be designed to enhance and complement your
business. We provide a phased approach to security system design and installation.
Phase One - Operational Requirement Analysis
- Liaison with local police to establish and analyse crime
statistics and trends
- Liaison with local authority community safety
staff to identify areas of concern other than criminal
- Produce
a comprehensive presentation to you, to enable you to make an informed
decision.
Phase Two - Feasibility Study
- Establishing where and how the security systems should be installed
- Producing
outline concept specifications and budget costings
- Establishing
test criteria for any proposed security systems.
Phase Three - System Specification
- The production of a written system specification based upon the findings
of the earlier two phases
- The production of tender documentation
including security system maintenance requirements
- Investigation of companies
wishing to tender, to ensure technical competence, and financial resource
capability
- Liase with you to produce a preferred installer short
list
- Evaluate each tender submitted, preparing a detailed report
for your consideration.
Phase Four - Project Management
- Project management of the installation to ensure proper and effective
co-operation between component manufacturer, installer, electricians and
others. We also ensure compliance with Construction (Design and Management)
Regulations 1994 and Health and Safety File preparation
- Producing
selection criteria for the recruitment and training of system users
- Ensuring
that suppliers subscribe to an ‘open protocol’ policy and that
software drivers are developed which allow for system flexibility, functionality
and integration as required
- Commissioning and testing the final
installed system against the criteria previously identified, and ensuring
that it performs in accordance with the specification and operational
requirement analysis.
Phase Five - Security System Management
- The preparation of management guidelines
and procedures to meet your needs and satisfy legislative requirements,
including codes of practice and operational manuals
- Arranging and
supervising manufacturer and installer training
- Undertaking other
operator training to ensure system use in compliance with Home Office Guidelines
and legislative requirements, in particular, the Data Protection Act 1984
and 1998, The Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984 and The Criminal Procedure
and Investigations Act 1996
- Undertake
frequent reviews in a time scale to be agreed with you. (The reviews
to take place after commissioning to ensure proper and correct functionality).
